v1.0 → v1.1

What changed in Wandercoon 1.1

Wandercoon 1.1 is the first major update since launch. This page walks through the work that went into it, area by area, with before and after captures wherever the change has a visual surface. Everything shown here is live in the 1.1 build.

Onboarding

v1.0 dropped new players straight into the game with no guidance at all. v1.1 adds a real onboarding that introduces Wander, explains how your steps power the journey, and walks you through your first rewards.

Nothing to show here: v1.0 had no onboarding.

After, v1.1

HUD redesign

The in-game interface was rebuilt for v1.1: clearer panels, a cleaner visual hierarchy, and faster access to the gauge, the bag and the shop. Same game, much easier to read.

XP & Quests

A whole progression layer that did not exist in v1.0: daily and monthly quests, XP rewards and player levels now give every walk a goal beyond the path itself.

Nothing to show here: v1.0 had no quest system.

New beach map, featured map and matching cosmetics

v1.1 opens a second world beyond the prairie: the beach, with its own scenery and collectibles, plus the new featured map rotation and a set of cosmetics to match.

Nothing to show here: the beach did not exist in v1.0.

Collectibles: drop rates, shiny variants, album and badges

Collectibles grow into a full system in v1.1: rarity based drop rates, rare shiny variants, a collection album to fill and badges to earn along the way. None of this existed in v1.0.

Graphics improvements

v1.1 ships a visual polish pass across the whole game: a day and night cycle, refreshed environments and smoother animations. This kind of change reads far better in motion than in a still capture, so there is no screenshot for it here. It is best seen in the build itself.

Music & SFX

The update adds new music tracks and sound effects throughout the game, from ambient biome themes to feedback sounds on rewards and captures. There is nothing meaningful to screenshot for audio work, so this section is text only.

Backend reliability (cloud sync)

Under the hood, v1.1 hardens the cloud sync that backs up player progress. Every change is saved locally first and then pushed to the cloud through a queue, so the game stays fully playable offline and nothing is lost on a bad connection. Sync conflicts between devices are now resolved deterministically, which fixed rare cases where progress or currency could be counted twice, or restored incompletely, when switching phones. None of this is visible on screen, but it is the work that makes every other feature safe to trust.
