What changed in Wandercoon 1.2

Wandercoon 1.2 is the Halloween update: a fourth World, the Haunted Woods, plus four new languages and a round of polish on the screens you open every day. This page walks through it area by area, with a capture wherever the change has a visual surface. Everything shown here is live in the 1.2 build.

The Haunted Woods, a Halloween World

v1.2 opens a fourth World: an autumn forest by day that turns into Halloween after dark, with its own soundtrack and a night mist that drifts in as the light falls. It is a Wandercoon+ World, launched as the Featured World until November 10, and it stays in the game after that.

Twelve creatures, an outfit set and two card borders

The Haunted Woods has its own page in the Album, with twelve creatures to meet. Some of them only come out after dusk, and the Album explains that rule so nobody wonders why the bat is missing at noon. To go with them, a ten piece Halloween outfit set for Wander and two Halloween borders for your traveler card.

Redesigned World map

Each World is now a full tile with its own illustration and a segmented progress bar, so you can see at a glance where every journey stands and pick your next destination.

Redesigned Statistics screen

The Statistics screen is rebuilt around one thing: your steps. Switch between 1, 7 and 30 days, see your daily goal drawn on the chart, scroll the day by day list, and edit your goal from the same screen.

Four new languages

Wandercoon now speaks Japanese, German, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, in the app and on the store pages, on top of French and English. That makes six languages in total.

The Travelers tab is back

The Travelers tab returns to the tab bar, which goes back to five tabs. You can now customize your traveler card straight from it, with a picker for the bottom of the card and your badges.

A clearer level card, and XP from events

The level card now says what each number means. Energy boosts and rests found along the way now give XP instead of bonus steps, so Wander moves forward exactly as far as you walk.

Postcards from Wander each evening

If you turn them on, Wander sends a postcard every evening. It is an invitation to get back on the road, never a number and never a reproach.

More reliable step counting

On iPhone, Apple Health is now recommended during setup: it also counts your Apple Watch, with no double counting. On Android, days read from Health Connect follow the calendar, the step sensor is switched on from the start, and the app names the step source of your own platform instead of assuming an iPhone. None of this changes how far Wander walks, it just makes the count match your day more closely.

And a few smaller things
